Painting

I first began painting when I was fifteen years old. Through out my time in high school I really only painted as part of course work. I spent much more of my free time focusing on sports and other things. After I became very ill I returned to painting, since I was too frail for sports. I started by creating a lot of abstract paintings. I focused on enjoying the process of creating the piece and the intended emotional response it would give me during the process and once I completed it.

I grew to love creating abstract paintings. I did so for a few years and won a few awards for my abstract work.

Recently I have been creating more representational work. The process of painting is far more deliberate. I plan to create many more representational paintings, especially pieces with a surreal tonality. I also plan to create large-scale murals in the near future.

I do not only paint on 2-D surfaces. I also paint on my original sculpture work. It is something I really enjoy the process of doing. It feels as though I am painting a labyrinth. All of the twists, turns, and varying textures offer an interesting and added challenge to my painting practices. However, you will only find 2-D painting work referenced within this website menu option.
